CONTRACT COORDINATOR
The Center for Elders
Independence is a non profit organization serving frail elders in the East Bay. Our innovative, all-inclusive, long-term health care program (PACE Program)
provides the frail elderly with all the care they need, allowing them to
maximize their health & independence and remain close to their family
members and within the community. We currently have a full-time opening for
a Contract Coordinator.
The Position: The Contract
Coordinator maintains agency contract and
credentialing files as
directed by chiefs and according to agency policies and procedures. This
includes reviewing contracts for consistency and compliance
with State and Federal
regulations and negotiating new contracts and rates as
directed by the chiefs. In
addition the Contract Coordinator is responsible for
providing education to independent
contractors and healthcare providers including maintaining and distributing
the provider manual.
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
CONTRACTS
- Develop and evaluate contracts for clarity and
consistency as directed by chiefs.
- Ensure that contracts are in compliance with DHS and
CMS regulations.
- Negotiate new contracts and rates supportable by CEI
capitation formulas.
- Provide CEI program staff with current lists of
contracted healthcare providers and independent contractors.
- Work with consultants and attorneys to keep CEI
contracts current with all State and Federal regulations.
- Participates in the selection of or changes to the
contract maintenance software and implementation.
- Maintain current, accurate, secure and organized
filing system for all agency contracts.
- Monitor adequacy of healthcare provider network to
ensure that it meets the specialty, ancillary and hospital needs of
CEI participants. Communicate issues with the network to the chiefs.
- Conducts research and development to expand the network
of providers and healthcare services as directed by chiefs.
- Inform CFO and CMO of identified barriers to meeting
goals and offer solutions in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires
a BA or BS degree. An MBA is preferred.
- A
minimum of two years medical services contracting experience
preferred.
- Requires
at least 5 years increasingly responsible management-level experience
and supervision of direct reports. Ability to work in situations that
require diplomacy, creativity, and a high level of professionalism.
- Proficiency
with Microsoft office applications. Excellent knowledge of Excel and
Word. Experience with Access or other database software.
- Demonstrated
experience reviewing, interpreting and negotiating contracts with a
high degree of professionalism and expertise.
- Ability
to solve problems and recommend alternative negotiation techniques and
compromise outcomes. Ability to effectively analyze and prioritize
complex issues.
- Demonstrates
ability to plan, organize and meet deadlines taking into account
changing priorities.
- Ability
to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent
communication and organizational skills. Ability to compose original
professional level correspondence and to prepare concise, accurate,
and well-organized reports.
- Ability
to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural
environment.
- Must
have a valid California Drivers License and current auto insurance.
- Business
travel may be required to attend seminars and conferences.
- Experience
with planning, facilitating and documenting meetings.
