Q. What does this cost?

A. Most people pay nothing. There are never co-pays, deductibles or surprise bills.

  • There is no cost for people with full Medi-Cal.
  • There is a share-of-cost for people who have a Medi-Cal share of cost.
  • For people with Medicare (but not Medi-Cal), there is a monthly premium that depends on financial need - our benefits team can give you a quote.

Q. Is this a doctor group, or insurance?

A. We are both. We have a complete medical network and are also the insurer. Everything that is medically needed is included.

Center for Elders' Independence is a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly. "PACE" is for people 55+ who have complex medical conditions. Our goal is for people to live home, in their own community, and help avoid a future in a nursing home.

If your parent joins PACE, they will get all of their medical and personal care from us. Any services outside of our plan have to be pre-approved. If these are not pre-approved, your parent can be financially liable for those services.

Q. Is this a permanent decision?

A. No. Your parent is never locked into a contract with us.
