A Message from CEI About COVID-19
Center for Elders’ Independence continues to serve elders while responding as a Health Care and Social Services provider in the face of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The safety and well-being of those individuals that CEI serves, the community, the staff at CEI and its collaborators comes first and foremost in these difficult times. The services including Day Center Services, clinic services and home care are and will continue to be provided based on patient need. In order to maximally protect participants from infection we will be reducing travel and exposure to others in our centers. We are providing increased home care and even coming up with new ways to provide social activities virtually in the home. We can continue to talk with new individuals who are in need of these types of services during this time as well.
CEI has implemented the Centers for Disease Control recommendations in our centers and in materials shared with our staff and participants on how to remain safe at home and in the community. We have instituted strict handwashing for all, screening of all participants on a daily basis for illness, and have adjusted our activities to keep participants six feet apart. We are using all recommended protections and have instituted daily deep cleaning in the clinics, centers and transportation vehicles. We have a safe environment that meets CDC recommendations.
At the same time, we know staying home can feel isolating. We are working on ways to help those we serve and the community to continue to feel connected with their friends, community and support network here at CEI.
Please continue to limit the exposure you (or your loved one) may have by continuing with careful handwashing, avoiding all sick people, and limiting contact with others. More information is available here:
