Frieda Alessi, MSL, DPT

Director of Operational Excellence

Frieda Alessi joined Center for Elders’ Independence in 2021 as the Rehabilitation Functional Manager, drawing on her 30 years of experience as a Physical Therapist, primarily in management roles at various hospitals and clinics. In 2022, she became our Director of Operational Excellence, responsible for developing quality, cost-effective, efficient systems and protocols across all of CEI’s PACE centers. She provides leadership and oversight of PACE functional managers, assuring high standards in functional, technical, and clinical skills. Prior to working at CEI, she served as Director, Rehabilitation & Imaging at Sutter Health—Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley.  She has served in several roles in the American Physical Therapy Association’s academies, chapters and districts, including the California PT Association’s Ethics and Professionalism Committee.

Frieda received a B.S. in Natural Sciences and Mathematics from Dowling College, Oakdale, New York; a Master of Science in Chemistry from SUNY, Stony Brook, New York; a Master of Studies in Law, Health Law and Compliance from Samford University, Cumberland School of Law, Birmingham Alabama; and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Marymount University, Arlington, Virginia.  She and her husband Tom enjoy scenic drives in the Bay Area, tending to their home vineyard, and spending time with their furry companions.
