Tri Valley “Breaks Ground”
On Friday, June 30, senior leadership, members of CEI Board and Foundation along with two local elected officials celebrated the start of construction for the new Tri Valley campus. This location will serve many seniors living in San Ramon, Livermore, Dublin and Pleasanton areas and is located at 2441 Constitution Drive, Livermore. The leased building will occupy over 23,000 square feet.
Livermore Mayor John Marchand spoke how critically needed PACE is for the seniors in his city as the only senior day center had recently closed. Mayor Marchand is most excited about the free transportation offered by CEI.
Livermore Councilmember Evan Branning reiterated saying how much he appreciates [CEI] “taking care of our most vulnerable neighbors in one of the hardest periods of their lives…and doing it with compassion and kindness.”
According to the California Department of Aging, Alameda County will see an increase of 533% of seniors over the age of 85 by 2060. To meet that tremendous need, CEI is preparing now to open in early 2024.
CEI currently has five PACE centers in San Leandro, East Oakland, Downtown Oakland, Berkeley and Concord where they offer medical care and social services to adults over 55 who need extra help to stay living at home.
