“I work hard to ensure our program is delivered with respect, care and dignity to every participant who comes to El Sobrante. We see the joy this brings every day.”
My goal is to support participants in maintaining their independence and quality of life in the community and we see the joy that this bring every day. As the center director, I work hard to ensure that our program is delivered with respect, care and dignity to every participant who comes to El Sobrante. I come to work ready to solve problems, provide excellent care, and most importantly, build connections and engagement with participants, families and community providers.
After graduating from San Diego State University with my Bachelor of Science in Psychology, I began my career in the San Diego area working with chronically mentally ill adult patients. I continued my studies earning a Masters of Social Work, also from San Diego State University. Afterwards, I spent six years in Massachusetts as both a case manager and a clinical social worker providing mental healthcare for adult patients before returning to California. In 2011, I joined Guardian Adult Day Health Center as a social worker. Four years later, I was promoted to program director providing leadership, management, and coordinating many aspects of the day healthcare setting. Guardian joined Center for Elders’ Independence in 2018. We had the amazing opportunity to have the center remodeled, as well as the addition of many more resources and opportunities for participants and staff.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading mysteries, participating in a book club, and hiking on local trails with my husband. I have two sons in college, a twin sister, older brother and a cat who looks and acts like a tiger.
