Yoonmee Joo provides primary medical care as a board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner and has a Ph.D. in Physiological Nursing, for which she researched the effects of medications on age-related hearing loss in older adults. She also teaches and mentors nursing students at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She is interested in factors that promote health for the most vulnerable elderly, especially the social and cultural environment that enables seniors to remain living in their communities with quality of life and dignity. Yoonmee earned her bachelor’s degree at Yonsei University (Korea), and her master’s degree and Ph.D. at UCSF. She is bilingual in Korean and English.
