Center for Elders' Independence has always maintained a mission to empower seniors to live safely and independently within their communities. Each year brings new opportunities to expand that mission, grow, innovate, and build meaningful moments for our participants and their loved ones.
This year, CEI placed increased emphasis on memory care. In October, we hosted our annual CEI Foundation Tri-Valley Texas Hold ’Em Tournament, a fundraising event that brings together donors, partners, and friends alike.
The event will help aid the expansion of CEI’s memory care initiatives—programs that support participants living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and cognitive decline. Our community came together with the shared goal of improving the quality of life for participants in need of specialized cognitive care, providing direct funding to our memory-support programming, staff training, therapeutic activities, and caregiver resources across CEI locations.
Liz Anders, Director of the CEI Foundation, reflects on how fundraising efforts help enhance our memory care offerings to East Bay seniors, including the addition of three new memory care rooms across CEI locations.
CEI knows how crucial cognitive health is—not only for independent seniors—but also for the loved ones who play a part in their lives every day. Our recent article, How to Protect and Maintain Brain Function, offers practical guidance for older adults and caregivers committed to preserving memory and cognitive strength.
Together, we remain committed to supporting older adults with comprehensive care, dignity, and joy—today and in the future.
