It inspires me to dedicate my work to providing excellent care to seniors. Seeing them come to the Day Center to spend time with each other and engage in daily activities is truly inspiring to me. I believe that working with elders can greatly enhance one’s compassion and empathy. Assisting them with the unique challenges and struggles they face can be a deeply fulfilling experience. Knowing that I make a direct or indirect impact on their healthcare and ensuring they feel valued and supported, brings me a great sense of satisfaction.
After graduating with my bachelor's degree in business, I continued my healthcare career as a director of operations at Sutter Bay Health in San Francisco. From there, I worked on my master’s degree in public administration giving me the opportunity to take on clinical operations in a couple of settings including PACE. I’m particularly impressed by the interdisciplinary team approach as this model ensures seniors get the necessary care improving their health outcomes.
I speak English and Spanish fluently, which I believe will be valuable in communicating with a diverse group of seniors.
Outside of working hours, I really enjoy various arts and crafts, especially painting on canvas, as well as traveling with my family. I am married with two adult children and the parent of a golden-doodle dog. I was raised in San Francisco and moved to the East Bay in 2017.

Serving the most fragile and vulnerable older adults is what drives me to being at Center for Elders’ Independence. I want to provide the same high-quality level of care to others as I would want for my family.
I’ve been practicing medicine since the mid-1980s after earning my bachelor's degree at Northwestern University and my medical degree at Rush Medical College located in Chicago, Illinois. I served my internship at the US Naval Hospital in Oakland and completed my residency in Chicago at Rush-Christ Family Practice Program. For much of my career, I have provided family medicine and served the HIV-positive and prison communities. I spent several years helping those families on Medicare and Medi-Cal. I have bounced back and forth between Illinois and California over the years, most recently serving seniors in Chicago. I am happy to be back in Golden State.
I speak English, Spanish, Russian and Ukrainian.
Outside of office hours, I enjoy playing with my dogs, cooking and volunteering at my church soup kitchen.
