Aging can bring new challenges, like managing multiple healthcare appointments, keeping up with medications, and maintaining good diet and fitness. Many seniors and their families struggle to coordinate all the care they need, especially when they want to continue living at home.
PACE provides a holistic approach to senior care, offering medical services, home assistance, transportation and social support—all in one place.
Discover how PACE can help your loved ones maintain their independence.
What is PACE?
PACE, or the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, helps seniors get the care they need at home and in the community instead of going to a nursing facility or assisted living.
When you join the CEI PACE program, a team of healthcare professionals, who are all experienced in caring for seniors, will work closely with you to plan and coordinate your medical care, personal support, and other services.

Who Can Enroll in PACE?
To enroll in PACE, you must:
- Be 55 years old or older.
- Live in a PACE service zip code.
- Be certified by the state of California as needing the level of care provided by a nursing home.
- Be able to live safely at home with the help of CEI PACE services when you join.
Medicare or Medi-Cal or Medi-Cal alone cover the costs of PACE with no co-pays or deductibles. You must continue to pay your Medi-Cal share of cost, if you have one. And you must use the plan’s network of doctors. You are responsible for any costs outside the network. If you do not have Medi-Cal, you will have a premium to join PACE.
How Does CEI PACE Help You Live Independently?
PACE is designed to help you stay healthy and live at home instead of going to a nursing home or assisted living. Here is how it supports your independence:
- Meal Assistance — PACE provides healthy meals at the day center, and, if you need help with food at home, CEI can provide that.
- Home Health Services — If you need help at home, a personal care attendant will visit you at home to help with tasks like bathing, dressing, and managing medications.
- Transportation — Participants receive rides to and from their local PACE center, as well as medical appointments and CEI planned outings with wheelchair-accessible PACE vans.
- Physical Therapy and Exercise — PACE helps you stay active in the PACE center rehab gyms with exercises and therapy to keep you strong and mobile.
- Social Engagement — At the PACE center, you can join group events and activities, making it easy to enjoy creative pastimes and make new friends.
